Singer found dead in L.A County home, suicide suspected
Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington has been found dead in an L.A. County home.
TMZ is reporting the singer committed suicide at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates. His body was found Thursday morning just before 9am local time.
He was just 41.
Bennington had struggled with alcohol and drug problems, and reportedly was devastated following the recent suicide of his friend and Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, who died in Detroit back in May. Today would have been Cornell’s 53rd birthday.
Bennington had been married twice, and leaves behind 6 children.
He was a member of the groups Dead by Sunrise, Bucket of Weenies, Sean Dowdell And His Friends and Grey Daze. Bennington was the lead vocalist for Stone Temple Pilots from 2013 to 2015.
